A member of the Cas12a family of proteins. Derived from Acidaminococcus. It binds with crRNA to form functional complex, that specifically recognizes DNA sequences, and trans-cleaves ssDNA.

A member of the Cas12a family of proteins. Derived from Lachnospiraceae. It binds with crRNA to form functional complex, that specifically recognizes DNA sequences, and trans-cleaves ssDNA.

Enhanced version of LbaCas12a. The efficiency is increased from 30% to 50%.

Members of the Cas13a family of proteins, originating from Leptotrichia wadei, bind to crRNA, specifically recognize RNA sequences, and perform trans-cleavage of RNA. Compared to LbuCas13a, LwaCas13a exhibits high activity and cleaves RNA at a faster rate in certain diagnostic experiments.

Both LbuCas13a and LwaCas13a are RNA-targeting CRISPR enzymes from the Cas13 family. Compared to LwaCas13a, LbuCas13a exhibits stronger specificity. LbuCas13a is commonly used in diagnostic experiments requiring low background and high specificity, such as the detection of single-nucleotide variants (SNVs) and single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs).

Cas14a is a very small Cas protein, about half that of other Cas proteins. Cas14a can recognize and cleave the target ssDNA, and also has co-cleavage activity. It can be used for the detection of ssDNA. Cas14 enables high-fidelity SNP genotyping. Since the recognition of DNA molecules does not depend on the PAM site, Cas14 has extremely strict requirements for the accuracy of the recognition sequence, and the mismatch of a single base will seriously inhibit its cleavage activity.
